We combine creativity with skills and intuition developed from years of practical experience and ongoing evidence-based research. Over 25% of our time is reserved for analysing industry case studies and emerging trends, developing new and updated materials to support client activities
Our focus is on the practical benefits of technology rather than academic studies and we tend to avoid theoretical ideals. They can be fun when creating visions but can prove costly in practice

After several years introducing IT systems within organisations, I joined Microsoft and became the UK, and later EMEA, pre-sales lead for portal and collaboration technologies, establishing the first SharePoint partner community worldwide and helping create internal business value and competitive strategies. I advised some of Microsoft’s largest customers across Europe, worked closely with the SharePoint product group and presented at executive briefings and international conferences
The decision to start Joining Dots came from seeing a growing gap between the potential technologies can offer and the benefits to be realised, most often caused by too much focus on the technical possibilities and not enough appreciation of the business, social and economic factors that influence outcomes. An independent perspective can help challenge assumptions and facilitate change
As an independent speaker and guide, I am also available for conferences and panels, and can provide comments or interviews for media and research purposes
